In an article titled “In Search of Beautiful Breasts” in Cosmetic Surgery and Beauty Magazine, Sydney plastic surgeon Dr Alex Phoon explains the importance of taking your time when it comes to breast augmentation.
A successful breast augmentation starts with a quality consultation between patient and surgeon, says Dr Phoon. ‘The consultation provides the opportunity to build trust and understand – something that’s crucial to ensuring patients are satisfied with their final results.’ he says.
It’s this expertise that Dr Phoon says helps women cut through the amount of options available to them. Dr Phoon uses three-dimensional imaging technology to help patients see how their results might look after surgery. He says that using 3D imaging allows the patient to realistically see what any size implant might look like on their body.

Whilst many surgeons have a preferred implant – be in textured, smooth, silicone, saline or polyurethane, Dr Phoon believes that every woman benefits from a different type of implant.
